How to create a sales order in the NetSuite Legacy Tax Adapter for GTD

This article is for NetSuite Legacy Tax users only. If you use NetSuite SuiteTax, read this article for help with creating a sales order.

  1. Go to Transactions > Sales > Enter Sales Orders.



  2. In the Customer field, choose a customer.



  3. In the Items tab, fill in the following information:
    • Item
    • Quantity
    • Price (if not already filled in)
    • Tax Code: Select any value. This field will be overwritten when tax is calculated.



  4. Click Add.
  5. To estimate the sales tax prior to saving the sales order, click Calculate Tax.
    • Make sure that all lines are automatically updated to reflect the correct Tax Code value and that the tax total appears in the Summary box.



  6. Click Save to complete the order entry.
    • The Tax Detail tab displays the tax breakdown by line and tax type.
