This article is for NetSuite Legacy Tax users only. If you use NetSuite SuiteTax, read this article for help with creating a sales order.
- Go to Transactions > Sales > Enter Sales Orders.
- In the Customer field, choose a customer.
- In the Items tab, fill in the following information:
- Item
- Quantity
- Price (if not already filled in)
- Tax Code: Select any value. This field will be overwritten when tax is calculated.
- Click Add.
- To estimate the sales tax prior to saving the sales order, click Calculate Tax.
- Make sure that all lines are automatically updated to reflect the correct Tax Code value and that the tax total appears in the Summary box.
- Click Save to complete the order entry.
- The Tax Detail tab displays the tax breakdown by line and tax type.
