How is Sovos Filing different from your old product?

Filing your taxes on your own can be a complex, time-consuming, and often frustrating experience. To make this process easier, Sovos takes on the challenging parts and files sales and use tax on your behalf.

The process is still the same: you upload your transactions, Sovos prepares your return, you review it, and then Sovos files it.



What is different is how you'll experience this process. Previously, all communication took place on the STS Portal via support cases. In Sovos Filing, you'll see what's happening in the product, giving you more transparency with the same amount of control.

 

Uploading your tax data

Sovos has built-in templates that match the most common file types so you won't have to reformat your file before uploading.

Reconciliation

Every filing period, you'll receive 4 reports that show your data in different formats. These reports help you reconcile against your general ledger so that you can make sure we received your full set of data.

Tracking your returns

When you log in to Sovos Filing, you'll start on the My Returns dashboard, where you can check the statuses of your returns.
