Add the SAP gateway and port information to the services system file for the Java Connector 3.0.21 to work properly.
Create a backup of the services file before making any changes to it.
Updating the services file if you’re using Windows and the SAP client is installed on the same computer as the Sovos JcoServer
The services system file will be automatically updated with all the necessary gateway and port information. Check the services file to make sure the update happened.
Updating the services file if you’re using Windows but the SAP client is not installed on the same computer as the Sovos JcoServer
Update the services file manually, by following these steps:
- Open the gatewayports.txt file in the Sovos-S4Hana- JcoServer/ folder of the installation kit. Copy all lines from this file and paste them into the services file.
- Open the services file in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\services.
- Paste the contents of the lines you copied from gatewayports.txt into the services file.
Updating the services file if you are using UNIX
Update the services file manually, by following these steps:
- Open the gatewayports.txt file in the Sovos-S4Hana- JcoServer/ folder of the installation kit. Copy all lines from this file and paste them into the services file.
- Open the services file in the /etc folder, /etc/services.
- Paste the contents of the lines you copied from gatewayports.txt into the services file.
