How to update Tax Jurisdiction Codes in SAP

You can use the Mass Update Tax Jurisdiction Code tool to update the Tax Jurisdiction Codes for addresses using Geo Codes from GTD. You can update addresses for the following entities:

  • Company Codes
  • Plants
  • Customers (SAP ECC only)
  • Vendors (SAP ECC only)
  • Cost Centers
  • Business Partners (S/4HANA AnyPremise or Extended Edition only)

If you need to update lots of data, you can run multiple instances of the tool at the same time.

  1. Go to Cockpit - Main (Transaction /n/SOVOSD/COCKPIT).
  2. Go to Maintain SAP Records and click the Execute button, which looks like a clock with a green checkmark, next to Mass Update of Tax Jurisdiction Code.

  3. In Selections, select the entity that you want to update Tax Jurisdiction Codes for.

  4. In Parameters, you can enter values to filter out certain entities. For example, if you selected Customer, you can enter a range of Customer Numbers to only update Tax Jurisdiction Codes for customers in that range.

  5. If you want to run multiple instances of the tool at the same time, in Parallel processing, select Via Job, then enter the number of instances you want to run in the Job Quantity field. If you only want to run the tool once, skip this step.

  6. Click the Execute button or press the F8 key on your keyboard.

  7. A message saying that a Job was created will appear in the corner of your SAP window. To check on the status of the Job, go to System > Own Jobs. When the Job says Finished in the Status column, the Tax Jurisdiction Codes have been updated.
