Exporting sales data from Walmart
You can download your transaction detail report from the Order Management section of the Seller Center portal.
Preparing your file
- Make sure your file is in CSV UTF-8 format.
- Add a column to the file with the header Marketplace Code.
- Add a column to the file with the header Exempt.
- Format all dates under Order Date as MM/DD/YYYY.
- Delete any additional sheets in the file before saving.
- Sovos processes the following Walmart report fields automatically. These are mandatory fields, so make sure that all of them are in the file you’re uploading:
Walmart Field | Sovos Field |
Zip | Ship To Postal Code |
Tax | Tax Amount |
State | Ship To State/Province |
Ship to Address 1 | Ship To Street Name With Number |
Qty | Quantity |
Order# | Document Number |
Order Date | Document Date |
City | Ship To City |
Item Cost | Gross Amount |
Importing your sales data to Batch Determination
- Log in to Batch Determination.
- Click Add Transactions.
- Select Walmart Template.
- Click Browse to select your CSV file or drag and drop the file into the box.
- Click Continue.
- Once your data has been uploaded successfully, you’ll see a success screen with details.
Transaction data must be uploaded by the fourth business day of each month. If the data is not uploaded by then, Sovos can’t guarantee that the return will be filed on time in that filing period.
Always use Batch Determination to upload your tax data. Don't try to add data from the Imports menu in Filing.
Submitting your data for filing
If the data in the uploaded file is final and won’t change, click Save to Database. Click Save for Filing on the popup message to submit it for filing.
The data will show up in Sovos Filing within 24 hours as return(s) waiting to be prepared. You can track the status of these returns in Sovos Filing. To learn more about how Sovos Filing works, read this article.
