Sovos releases a list of new independent taxing jurisdictions at the end of every month, which are available for download. If there are any new jurisdictions where you have nexus, add them to your tax obligations in Global Tax Determination.
Follow these steps to download the file:
- Log in to the Sovos Portal.
- Click My Sovos Products.
- Find your Global Tax Determination subscription in the Download Updates section, then click the Download icon.

Click the Tax Content Updates tab, then click the Download icon in the Full column for the most recent update.

A window will open with a link to the ZIP file with the GTD content. Click Download to download the ZIP file to your computer.
- Open the ZIP file, then open the rate changes XLSX file (Month_Year_RateChanges.xlsx).

Newly added independent jurisdictions are bolded and have the letter I in column E (Independent/Dependent Nexus). To start collecting tax in a new independent jurisdiction, follow the steps for adding a nexus in New GTD Cloud or Legacy GTD Cloud.
