Configuring subsidiaries includes activating the tax engine and adding any configured nexuses to it. The steps are different depending on whether you have a NetSuite account or a NetSuite OneWorld account.
Configuring subsidiaries for a NetSuite account
- Go to Setup > Company > Company Information.
- Click the Tax Registrations tab.
- From the Country dropdown menu, select a country.
- From the Nexus dropdown menu, choose a nexus that has a tax agency assigned to it. The Tax Agency field should automatically populate.
- From the Tax Engine dropdown menu, select Sovos SuiteTax 2.0.
- Click Add.
- Click Save.
Configuring subsidiaries for a NetSuite OneWorld account
This configuration is only needed for NetSuite OneWorld accounts with multiple subsidiaries. Each subsidiary using the adapter needs to be configured individually.
- Go to Setup > Company > Subsidiaries.
- Click the Edit link for the subsidiary that’s going to use Global Tax Determination.
- Click the Tax Registration tab.
- From the Country dropdown menu, select a country.
- From the Nexus dropdown menu, choose a nexus that has a tax agency assigned to it. The Tax Agency field should automatically populate.
- From the Tax Engine dropdown menu, select Sovos SuiteTax 2.0.
- Click OK.
- Repeat steps 5-7 for all nexuses that have a tax agency assigned.
- Click Save.
