If you notice that a return you already filed has a mistake in it, you can amend it and file it again.
To amend a return, it needs to be in the Complete workflow stage.
- On the Returns page, click the return you want to amend.
- In the Overview tab, click Amend.
- Select what you want to do with the data, then click Amend:
- If you want to change the existing data in the return, select Simple.
- If you want to add new data, select Standard.
If you want to use your default payment and filing type, select Use Payment Type, Filing Type and Location Type from Filing Calendar Preference. If your filing and/or payment type has changed since you filed the original return, you should select this option.
Simple amending

You can delete this amended return by clicking the Delete icon next to the amended version.
To delete a return, it needs to be rolled back to the Ready stage.
Standard amending
Follow the steps in the How to edit a return that hasn’t been filed yet article.
If you want to add new transactions, upload them in Batch, roll the amended return back to the Ready stage, then start the process of advancing the return again until it’s filed and paid.
