You might need a copy of your return for your records or to print it out for paper filing. Follow these steps to download your return.
Download a single return
- On the Returns page, click the return you want to download.
- Click the Download icon, then select Download PDF to download the return as a PDF file or Export Return Data to download the return as a CSV file.
- The return will download in your browser window.
Download multiple returns
Generate returns
To download returns in bulk, first, you need to generate them.
- Go to Returns and select the returns you want to generate
To generate a PDF, the status under the Workflow column has to be Adjust, Review, File and Pay, or Complete. To generate an EDI, the status under the Workflow column has to be Review, File and Pay, or Complete.
- Click the Download Return icon, then select either PDFs or Enveloped EDIs.
The Enveloped EDIs option is not available for all filing types. Currently, EDIs can only be generated in bulk for Alabama and Louisiana returns, and all returns need to be for the same legal entity.
- A message will appear letting you know that your returns are being generated.
- The progress of the file generation can be tracked from the Downloads page.
Download returns
Once the returns have been generated, you can download them.
- On the Returns page, click Downloads.
A batch of returns may generate with errors. If this happens, the batch will be marked with an Error icon. If a return was generated with errors or couldn’t be generated, a TXT error file will be included in the downloadable ZIP file with an explanation of the error.
- Click the Download File icon.
- A message will appear letting you know that your download has started.
- Once the files are downloaded, you’ll be able to open them from your computer.
