How to add countries and their tax information in the NetSuite SuiteTax Adapter for GTD

Adding countries’ tax information

Before you can select the countries you want Global Tax Determination (GTD) to support, you have to add the sovos_country_installation.csv file. This file contains the countries’ tax information that will be passed through the adapter to GTD with every transaction.

To add the sovos_country_installation.csv file, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Documents > Files > File Cabinet.
  2. On the File Cabinet screen, click the SuiteBundles folder.

  3. From the list of SuiteBundles folders, click the Bundle <Bundle ID number> folder.
  4. Click Copy Files.

  5. Select the sovos_country_installation.csv option.

  6. Expand the filters at the top of the screen by clicking the plus icon.

  7. In the Copy To dropdown menu, select the Sovos folder.
  8. Click Copy.

Adding countries to NetSuite SuiteTax

Once the Sovos Tax Integration Package has been installed and the sovos_country_installation.csv file has been added, you’ll be able to use the Add Country Tax Information Suitelet to select the countries you want to support.

  1. Go to Setup > Sovos > Add Country Tax Information.
  2. Select the countries you want to support in the Sovos Supported Countries field.

Your NetSuite account type may not support all of the countries listed.

  3. Click Add Country.

  4. A scheduled script will be run to add the countries you selected. You’ll receive an email once NetSuite has finished adding the countries. The email will include information about the recently installed countries in addition to any countries that may have failed to install.

The Suitelet will install NetSuite Nexus, Tax Types, and Tax Codes that are associated with the selected countries according to Sovos.
